New York Life Community Grant Partnership

Toussaint L'Ouverture High School for Arts & Social Justice has partnered with New York Life to provide students who have lost a loved one with resources designed to help them cope. TLHS is grateful to New York Life for its donation of $500 as well as materials for students who may be grieving for someone who has died. It is partnerships like TLHS/NYL that strengthen our communities.

Richwagen of Delray Beach

TLHS would like to send a BIG thank you to Jim Chard, from Human Powered Delray, the Delray Beach Bike Club (BikeDelrayBeach.com), Richwagen of Delray Beach, and the City of Delray Beach Police Department with a special thanks to Jeffrey S. Goldman, Chief of Police for their efforts in contributing to the donation of Bicycles to TLHS on June 2, 2015.

We are lucky enough to have partnered with Albert Richwagen of Richwagen Bike & Sport, who has teamed up with HumanPowered Delray and the Delray Beach Police Department.

Albert Richwagen will begin training students in our upcoming FY16 school year for one period a day in the trade of bicycle repair, basic mechanics, hand tool usage, and public safety. Richwagen will also offer internship opportunities for students wishing to apply, as well as provide students hands-on opportunities to work on bicycles that have been donated from the City of Delray Beach’s Police Department.

HumanPowered Delray will be working with Richwagen on this project and on certain days will be training students on bicycle safety and environmental awareness.

TLHS is excited to announce its partnership with the Delray Beach Public Library for the 2014 Be teen the Lines: A Readers Club at Toussaint L'Ouverture High School for Arts & Social Justice.

TLHS has partnered with the Gladiolus Education Garden, to facilitate the start-up of the new Delray Beach, community garden, where our students are helping from the ground up (literally) to build & plant, and eventually educate community members on the benefits of gardening.
